This year for our Yr 7/8 production, the theme is Google! Basically each class gets 7-10 minutes to do whatever they want, singing, acting, dancing, whatever.

The themes that each class chose to do are movies, Google Talk, Google Maps, celebrities/messed up fairy tales (my class!), Social Media, and something else that I can’t remember at the moment

For our class, we wrote a piece of writing explaining which role you wanted to be and why. The 8 roles for our class are director, who give feedback on everything; producer, who keep track of the resources and money; dramaturg, who are basically the boss and keep track over everything; choreographer, who are in charge of dances and movement; set design, who design props and stuff; costume design, who (obviously) design the costumes; sound design, who are in charge of music and things like that; and, of course, the script writer, who write the script.

We found out yesterday what we got: I’m one of the directors! I’m really happy, because that was my first choice. I put director, then choreographer (because I’ve done hip-hop for 6 years), and then dramaturg.

Annabelle and Jiya are both choreographers (because they both do dance), and Zoe is a script writer (but that was her second choice, she wanted to be a director, but I am. But at least Zoe got probably the most important job).

Script writers get to work on the script throughout the week, but the rest of us get to work next week, because we can’t do ANYTHING without having a script, because how are you meant to design costumes if you don’t know what you need to make?
