Last Friday, the 3 bands from Yr 7/8 at our school performed at lunch time for a spot at the competition Battle of the Bands (something like that, I’m not 100% sure).
I was performing in the Black Falcons (yeah, that’s the name of our band). We did Secrets by One Republic and Counting Stars, which is also by One Republic. It’s funny, because about half of the Black Falcons are from Room 27 (my room number), and both the songs we did were by One Republic (we should totally have called ourselves ’27 Republic’).
I am 1 of the 2 people in the Black Falcons playing the keyboard.
My favourite part when we were performing was in the middle of Counting Stars, and then Maia (who is the other person playing the keyboard) grabbed a microphone and started rapping. I can remember some parts of the rap, but not all of it. It started off like ‘Yo, hate to burst your bubble, but here I am’, another part was like ‘Judges, let us in for the Battle of the Bands’, and it ended like ‘I’m like Harry Potter with his wand and spells, Voldemort, I said his name, but I don’t really care’. In other words, the rap was really good!
Before we did our performance, we were going to all go ‘Ka kaaa!’ and flap our arms like wings, but in our practice before the performance we decided not to. It would have been hilarious if we did, though, because everyone would be like ‘?’
The other bands were called The Vibe and the Bandits, they were both very good
In the end, the placings were:
1st: Bandits, 8 1/2 out of 10
2nd: The Vibe, 7 1/2 out of 10
3rd: Black Falcons, 6 out of 10
So we came last
Ka kaaa! *flaps arms like wings*
